I am ME. I am a wife of an amazing husband. I am a mama to 2 girls (ages 5 and 2) and a boy (born 3-29-11). I am a daughter. I am a sister. I am a friend. I am a runner.
I love to run. I love to train towards a goal. It helps me feel like more ME as I seek to balance all of the above.
Our oldest daughter is the inspiration for my blog title. When she was younger, she’d enthusastically say “Mama go for a run!” when I’d be headed out. She would pretend to “go for a run” as she ran laps around our little house. She still sometimes wants to pretend we’re in a race where she’ll keep saying, “Good job! Keep it up!” or have me start her saying “Runner set. GO!” She has even done a few kiddie races herself :)
My incredible husband is so supportive in helping me find time to run. I firmly believe that physical activity away from kids enables a woman to be a better wife and mom. For me, it is often the only alone time I ever get. It is my outlet, and a healthy way to release stress and emotion. I also believe it is being a good steward of the body that God has given me by helping me stay healthy.
After being a college cross country coach for 5 years, I have been a stay at home Mom since January 2010. That change involved a move from the mountains to the flat land of the coast.
Writing on this blog is simply fun for me, and I’d like to think it might help and inspire others to live an active lifestyle.
My 1st post on this blog also goes into why I have created this blog, and a bit of my back ground as a runner.
Great blog from your oldest, as in years old and time running with you (when I can keep up) running partner.
